NEW AGENT, NEW START FOR GIULIANETTI
As the traditional summer hiatus approaches, many actors are either tak-ing time off as reward for a year’s work well done, or taking time off to skip out on their taxes.  But while many rush to put aside their craft, the young and exceptionally talented Vancouver actor
Stefano Giulianetti is gearing up to make a fresh start.
While last year can be counted as a resounding success for the accomplished actor, who earned credits as a Latin fugitive on the TV series Millennium, as a Mountain Patrolman in two Kokanee Beer commercials, as well as for Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding and a production at the Chan Centre, Giulianetti says he is determined to make ’98 even better yet.
With newly acquired agent Connie Hardie, auditioning rates will no doubt be on the rise, especially after the second quarter of the year, when Giulianetti's head shots, taken by well-known photographer Nicholas Seiflo, will be available.

STEFANO TO TOUR LIKE IT WAS 1999
According to reliable sources, a high profile, high budget Francophone touring company was rumored to have offered a part to gifted Vancouver actor, Stefano Giulianetti.   The part, apparently, had already been offered to him a year ago after a brilliant audition but the busy actor had to turn it down due to prior engagements.  While the part calls for a young teenage boy, and Stefano has been known mostly for his work in older age groups, he said he would relish the opportunity to “get back to my roots, sharpen my crayons” and “re-acquaint myself with my inner child”.  When asked how his French skills were, Stefano simply replied “Oui” …the sign of a true artiste. Although we cannot divulge the Theatre Company’s name at this time (heh-heghm-Theatre la Seizieme), we do know that the tour will be an extensive one, spanning as far as Ontario and the Yukon from February to early April. Best of luck Stefano, and don’t forget to bring your parka!

BIG HEADED FOR THE SCREEN!
That is to say, "Headed for the big screen".  In case you haven't been reading your union mail-outs, another one of those huge budget independent feature films has hit  Vancouver; and who better to cast as comic relief than the hillarious Stefano Giulianetti.  The movie is The Water Game, directed by John Bolton, and the part calls for Stefano to venture into the realm of a thick-headed loser…a real stretch!  With a script that called for lines like: "Yeah.  We're graduated" and a stunt where he had to jump off the 10 Metre diving board at UBC simultaneously with fellow actor Andrew Morisson, both his talents and fears were put to the test.  The jury agrees, Stefano graduated with honours.  While the movie has not yet been sold, the producers are confident that the second George Lucas sees Stefano's dailys, he'll be begging to get on board!
Have you Heard? (Secondary Article)

A STEFANO OF ALL TRADES
Congratulations are in order: With the inauguration of his new theatre company "LUCKY 13 PRODUCTIONS", the multi-faceted Vancouver sensation Stefano Giulianetti has proven that he's more than just a pretty face.  In his production of two John Lazarus Plays, "Babel Rap" and "The Illegal Playwriting Class", Giulianetti found himself producing, directing, building sets, selling advertising, acting (of course), and creating a media frenzy that had every paper in Vancouver after him. The shows ran for two weeks at the Vancouver Little Theatre, and co-starred Eufemia Fantetti and Darren Wilson.  If you missed these shows, you definitely missed out!
When asked whether his intentions were to quit acting to pursue these new metiers, Giulianetti graciously noted "Hey, there's enough Stefano for everyone!"  WOW!  What a professional!
Do I Hear Wedding Bells?  (Secondary Article)
That's right folks, he's at it again!  Improviser extrordinaire Stefano Giulianetti is back at that zany theatre show Tony n' Tina's Wedding (which is enjoying its 5th season) and this time he may actually tie the knot!  He's playing the "Italian Swing" which encompasses learning 4 new roles including Tony himself, and "swinging" in and out of the roles as needed.  With the other two roles he's played in the past, that means the talented young actor has a whopping 6 roles in his Tony n' Tina repertoire.  Watch out ladies, soon he'll be playing ALL the parts!  For ticket information call Hoarse Raven Theatre at  (604) 258-4079.

SERIOUS SIDE OF STEFANO
When most people think of Stefano Giulianetti, they think of his razor sharp wit and impeccable comedic timing, but the multi-faceted Vancouver performer has a few more aces up his sleeve.  Over the next year, Stefano fans all over British Columbia will also get a chance to admire his brilliant honesty and charisma  in an ad campaign for BC’s Alzheimer Society that will air on both television and radio.  The commercial has Stefano Giulianetti in the role of groom, to which he is no stranger, having performed in Vancouver’s longest running smash hit comedy Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding innumerable times over the last three years (in a total of SEVEN different roles).  But this time the charming young actor is pulling on heart strings, not the funny bone.  Although this is not his first serious role –having explored that side in an episode of Millennium- it is his most worthwhile.
( For information on the Alzheimer Society, contact www.alzheimerbc.org )

MAMMA MIA!
To complete his hat trick in wedding vows, worldly actor Stefano Giulianetti has hit the big screen.  After playing the role of the  groom in both the long running comedy Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding and in the Lotus award winning commercial for  the Alzheimer Society he is now marrying again in the Italian-Canadian feature film Almost America.  The film chronicles a 1950’s  immigrant Italian family living in the Canadian prairies.  They escape poor life conditions in Italy only to find new challenges in a country where they don’t speak the language and don’t understand the culture.  The all star Italian cast includes Sabrina Ferilli (Le Giraffe), Massimo Ghini (Tea with Mussolini) and of course, Stefano Giulianetti (The Water Game). Not only will this be Giulianetti’s Italian film debut, but it will be his first time performing in Italian. Since release dates have not yet been set, loyal Giulianetti fans from around the world will have to wait to see his fantastico! performance.  In bocca al lupo Stefano! (Break a leg!).
5 Card “STUD” (Secondary Article)
Watch out for hip Canadian band Bocephus King in the next few months, because they just found the key to success…Stefano Giulianetti!  He’s the lead in their upcoming music video “Mess of love” directed by Trevor Cornish.  In this exciting new project, Giulianetti plays the cool and confident card shark, trying to turn the tables on a crooked back door gambling hall.  As he enters the “New York” barber shop, tensions run high, but Giulianetti puts on his poker face, plays the right hands, takes the money and runs…You go girl!
No Script, No Problem.  (Secondary Article)

Vol 5, No. 1 (June '02)
SGTV : GET REAL!
The inside scoop on the Hollywood North gossip line is that talented actor Stefano Giulianetti will be taking off to Toronto to film “Sketch Troop”, a TV show for the LIFE Network.  The reality-based show documents the work of 12 actors from across Canada as they work towards building a sketch comedy troop.  After three weeks of comedy boot camp,  half of the performers will have a chance to make their mark at Montreal’s prestigious “Just For Laughs” comedy festival.  This program falls on the heels of another similar project: “Impromptu”, an improvised TV series.  Giulianetti recently finished work on the pilot episode alongside some of Vancouver’s finest.  Release dates for both Sketch Troop and Impromptu have yet to be announced, stay tuned for further updates in upcoming issues.
PATIENTLY WAITING? (Secondary Article)
While many actors wait for auditions, patient actor Stefano Giulianetti is busy “waiting” in a national TV spot for Toyota. This latest foray into the nation’s living rooms sees him patiently waiting for a buddy in a new Toyota 4Runner only to lock him out once he arrives with a messy sandwich.  That seems to be the only waiting the laborious actor has been doing these days.  OR BUSY THESPIAN?  Between the occasional monday night improv show at The Urban Well and private bookings (sorry, no children’s parties), Giulianetti also finds the time to perform with Bella Luna Productions.  With a focus on the traditional Italian masks of Commedia Dell’Arte, the company produces “honest and entertaining work that transcends language barriers.”  So far this year, Stefano has performed in and co-written three shows in english and italian. The most recent was an energetic (and frightening) show at the fifth annual “Sketch In Time” fundraiser for the ALS Society at the Arts Club Theatre.  (For more info, visit www.alsbc.ca)

SKETCHY BUSINESS
After exercising his funny bone all summer in Toronto filming the LIFE Network TV Show “Sketch Troop”, it’s finally time to sit back and watch the fruits of his labour.  The reality-based show (which had just finished airing at time of publication) documented the work of 12 actor/comedians from across Canada as they worked towards building a sketch comedy troupe.  After three weeks of writing, rehearsing and performing a sold out sketch comedy show, half of the performers got the chance to take the show to Montreal’s prestigious “Just For Laughs” comedy festival this past July.  As well as sketch, the brave actors also got a chance to perform stand up at Yuk Yuk’s comedy club. Did Stefano make the cut?...What happened to the comedy troupe? If you’ve been watching, you’ll know the answers…if you haven’t seen it yet, tune in on New Year’s Day from 10am to 3pm (pacific) on LIFE Network to see the whole series back to back.  That’s right! FIVE straight hours of Stefano… what better way to ring in the new year?!

ON THE ROAD AGAIN (Secondary Article)
Lucky Giulianetti fans from across Canada can look forward to the live Stefano experience in the new year as jet-set-Stefano takes off to Calgary in January to perform at the One Yellow Rabbit High Performance Rodeo.  The gifted actor will be playing Heathcliff in “The Heights”, a gritty urban adaptation of Emily Brontë’s “Wuthering Heights” alongside performer and writer Nicole Zylstra (Ghosts of Christmas Past, Sketch Troop). Catch him January 22nd, 23rd & 24th at the Big Secret Theatre or visit www.oyr.org for more info.  In February, he’s back in the Sketch Troop as they take to the streets on a southern Ontario/Quebec live comedy tour.  Watch for the ensuing documentary “Road to Funny” on LIFE Network.  For more, visit the sketch troop website above.

WORKING HARD OR HARDLY WORKING?
WHAT STEFANO GIULIANETTI HAS BEEN UP TO IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS
       - The latter half of 2002 has been a whirlwind of work for our auspicious actor Stefano Giulianetti.  After returning in early July from sketch troop comedy boot camp, Giulianetti got back in touch with his inner child at YMCA’s summer drama camps.  The 6 to 11 year old kids insisted he was the teacher, but Giulianetti was just happy to be hanging around “people his own age.”
       - Next came an invitation to the 15th Annual Vancouver Comedy Festival (July 26th to August 5th).  Locals and tourists alike were entertained and frightened as the likes of Arlecchino, Dottore, Capitano, and Pulcinella roved the streets and alleyways of Granville Island. BellaLuna Theatre brought the traditional Italian masks of Commedia Dell’Arte to the festival and took it by storm…luckily the weather was good.
       - Continuing the hat trick of hilarity, September saw Giulianetti perform at the Vancouver Fringe Festival in the acclaimed “Antiques Improv Roadshow.”  This was the second time !nstant Theatre performed this show and again was a  great success.  Audience is encouraged to bring an object that gets ‘appraised’ and then inspires a short improvised scene.  Stefano found himself appraising a grenade, but diffused the situation brilliantly.

JET SET STEFANO The Actor Has Landed
After more travels than Carmen Sandiego, cosmopolitan thespian Stefano Giulianetti has finally returned to his home base in Vancouver, BC. In this exclusive (and rare) interview, Giulianetti explains to our roving reporter just what he's been up to.
Much Ado:From the looks of it you've been quite busy, why don't we start from the beginning of the year.
Stefano Giulianetti:Yes, in January I was asked to perform in one of Canada's most exciting and important performing arts festivals; The 17th Annual One Yellow Rabbit High Performance Rodeo.
MA:What did you do there?
SG:I played Heathcliff in the premiere of "The Heights," - a gritty urban adaptation of Emily Brontë's "Wuthering Heights" - alongside performer and writer Nicole Zylstra. The show was both well attended and received.
MA:Then you were off to Toronto, is that right?
SG:Not only Toronto, but all over Southern Ontario and Montreal as well.
MA:Do tell!
SG:Along with Actor Zahf Paroo, I produced and performed in a sketch comedy show that toured the region playing everything from Comedy Clubs to Cathedrals. The other performers were Calgary's Nicole Zylstra and Toronto's Dorothy Heal, so getting everyone organized from across Canada was a challenge. But we garnered sponsorship from DAYS HOTEL, got a van and a genuine Rock n' Roll Roadie and we were on our way. A documentary crew from the LIFE network followed us on this "Road to Funny" and the ensuing one-hour television special will air on LIFE in September 2003.
MA:So…are you back for good?

LADIES' MAN
"It's a tough job but someone's gotta to do it!" That was actor Stefano Giulianetti's comment when asked how he enjoyed playing a paparazzo in the upcoming TV series The Collector. Giulianetti (in character of course) stalked a hot supermodel, snapping photos and being a general nuisance to the ladies; somewhat of a stretch for the humble performer. The Collector is a supernatural drama in the tradition of Rod Serling's original Twilight Zone, about a man who collects souls for the Devil. Look for it this spring on CTV.
ADORABLE (Secondary Article)
What does an 8 year-old have in common with actor Stefano Giulianetti? They can both be found in the Youth Drama classes at Burnaby's Shadbolt Centre for the Arts. While the centre insists he's the instructor, Stefano is happy "just hanging out with people his own age." What do the kids think of him? See for yourself:

CHRISTMAS IN KAMLOOPS
Stefano Giulianetti’s busy schedule of acting, teaching, producing and promoting theatre has been key in preparing himself for the important job of Santa’s Chief of Staff in Western Canada Theatre’s upcoming production of Dear Santa by Norm Foster.
Imagine the beleaguered CEO of a massive multi-national on the eve of its biggest shipment of the year; hurtling towards deadline, juggling obstacles, obligations and even an angst-ridden teenager with an unusual Christmas wish. Now imagine that same CEO in a red suit and a floppy elf hat, all held together by Algernon Gladstone Chief of Staff (Giulianetti). Norm Foster’s Dear Santa is a wild ride of riotous fun!
Stefano hopes to one day take over the North Pole and work only one day a year.
The show runs at Kamloops’ Sagebrush Theatre December 4 -11 (Tickets: 1-866-374-5483). Opening night flowers and gifts can be sent to Stefano Giulianetti c/o WCTC.
LA DOLCE VESPA(Secondary Article)
1983 Vespa PX150 There have been many rumors in the tabloids this summer targeting the whereabouts of Vancouver Actor Stefano Giulianetti. Sightings have placed him on anything from jetpacks to public transit. We at ‘Much Ado About Me’, are proud to dispel those rumors and explain that he has been travelling about town on his White 1983 Vespa Scooter (shown below). The vehicle reportedly travels at speeds in excess of 80km/hr, which explains the blurred photos.
We are also very pleased to announce that the Mediterranean actor will be travelling to Italy this October, apparently to meet with casting agents and directors in Rome and Milan. When asked if he will be taking his Vespa to Italy with him he said: “No. That would be silly, stop bothering me.”

FO Sure! (Third Article)
The Italian Cultural Institute, in association with BellaLuna Productions presents a one-day workshop with Mario Pirovano, Italian protégé of Nobel Prize-winning Playwright Dario Fo Sunday November 14th at the Scotiabank Centre. And now, your Host: STEFANO GIULIANETTI
The Antiques Improv Roadshow rolls into town for a week of highbrow fun May 17 – 21, 2005 at Performance Works hosted by Vancouver’s own Stefano Giulianetti.  Enjoy inspired story telling based on objects brought to the show by the audience as !nstant Theatre performs improvised adaptation of TV’s Antiques Roadshow.
The improvised stage adaptation of the popular TV show presents Vancouver’s best improvisers creating stories from items brought in by the audience.  While that moldy tub of mayo in the fridge won’t qualify for the real Antiques Roadshow, it may be just what the Improv Roadshow is looking for.  They may not unearth a fortune, but they’ll definitely roll out some laughs.
Bring you valued ancient treasures (or just junk you can’t give away) and leave with a priceless memory.
(Shows run nightly at 8pm from May 17-2, 2005 with a Friday Late Show at 10pm and Saturday Matinee at 2pm. Performance Works is located at 1218 Cartwright Street on Granville Island. Tickets will be available at the door)
ROMAN HOLIDAYS (Secondary Article)

1+1=TOUR
Simply say the magic words “Shalakazap!” and versatile actor Stefano Giulianetti is at it again! This time, he’s taking his charming brand of comedy to schools across BC for Axis Theatre’s play Shalakazap! The tour extends to over 100 elementary schools from Victoria to Dawson Creek with castmates Lyndsay Johnston, Evangela Dueck and Stage Manager Samara Van Nostrand.
On the heels of his last tour (see “The Best Italian” below), this youthful foray will keep Giulianetti on the road until early February with a well-deserved hiatus over the holidays, of course.
The show tackles the subjects of problem solving and math, which according to Giulianetti’s 3rd grade teacher weren’t his strongest skills. When asked to confirm this, Stefano’s publicist denied all allegations stating: ‘He’s rubber, you’re glue, whatever you say, bounces off him and sticks to you.”
THE BEST ITALIAN (Secondary Article)
THE BEST ITALIAN EVER! This past September, audiences all over BC were treated to an eclectic performance by Italian-Canadian Actor Stefano Giulianetti as he toured with BellaLuna Productions’ The Best Italian Variety Show – Ever!. Dubbed a ‘mini Heritage tour of BC’, the show went to Trail, Kamloops, East Van and North Burnaby delighting over 900 people with a good dose of splashy entertainment featuring comedians, game shows, masked characters, sexy dancers, opera divas and hosts bigger than their own egos. Other cast members included Susan Bertoia, Marco Soriano, Louis Chirillo, Lia Como and Opera singer Maria Cristina Fantini. For more: www.bellaluna.ca

Working like a MAD HATTER!
Actor Stefano Giulianetti has often been called foolish, but this time he’s truly going Mad! This December the level-headed performer will be causing a ruckus on the Sagebrush Theatre stage in Western Canada Theatre’s Alice: A Wonderland. His roles include the White Knight, Charles Dodgson, the Rose and the Mad Hatter. When asked by ‘much ado’ how he prepares for such a madcap role as the Hatter, his reply was simply “Elephant.”
The show will be directed by Janet Michael and cast mates include members of BellaLuna Theatre Susan Bertoia and Marco Soriano as well as Lisa Oppenheim, Sara Holt, Ian Gschwind and Vanessa LeBourdais. This will be the second time Giulianetti has worked for WCT, having performed in Norm Foster’s Dear Santa.
SPECIAL LIMITED TIME OFFER: As official media sponsor of Stefano Giulianetti, Much Ado Media will be offering free autographed photos of Mr. Giulianetti for any audience member that drives from Vancouver to Kamloops for this performance. Sorry, no rain checks.

Versatile Actor Stefano Giulianetti along with Josue Laboucane and Tanya Podlozniuk, recently workshopped the new play and will be hitting the road with it in the Winter/Spring 2007 season.

TOURING TO A THEATRE NEAR YOU!
The Emperor's New Threads As the old saying goes: “Hit the road Jack”; and that’s exactly what Vancouver Actor Stefano Giulianetti has been doing (only his name is not Jack).
Since January of this year, Giulianetti, along with fellow performers Josue Laboucane, Tanya Podlozniuk and stage manager Dorothy Jenkins has been performing Axis Theatre’s newest TYA touring show The Emperor’s New Threads. Written by Melody Anderson and Peter Anderson, the visually stunning show features over 30 masks, 15 costumes and of course, Stefano Giulianetti!!!
While most performances are in elementary schools across BC, there are several chances for die-hard Giulianetti fans to catch the show in theatres across the lower mainland (see inset flyer). The story is based on the popular Hans Christian Andersen fable “The Emperor’s New Clothes” which sees two swindlers sell an invisible outfit to a vain emperor for his royal procession…so you won’t want to miss THIS parade!

IS THERE ANYTHING HE CAN’T DO? (Secondary Article)
After a mere weeklong workshop last December, Actor Stefano Giulianetti staggers the imagination by adding Aerial Silks (Tissu) to his seemingly endless repertoire of stage skills**. The flexible entertainer will be using this aerial technique along with juggling, balancing and exceptional acting to play the part of an elderly man -and former circus performer- in Kaleidoscope Theatre’s The Boy Who Learned To Fly. The old man teaches the ways of the circus to his video-game addicted teenage neighbour and the lessons take flight, literally!
The new play by Barbara Poggemiller will premiere and tour schools in Victoria before taking the stage at the 2007 Vancouver International Children’s Festival in May.
** For a complete list of special skills, simply audition Giulianetti for any role, sit back and be amazed.

The stellar cast includes performers Josue Laboucane, Tanya Podlozniuk, stage manager Dorothy Jenkins and of course the inimitable Stefano Giulianetti. Created by Melody Anderson and Peter Anderson, ‘Emperor’ showcases the cast with brilliant physical comedy, dazzling fashions and amazing masks. In case you missed the show, which played to over 18,000 children across BC this past January to March, fret not, as the talented cast will be picking up the tour again this fall (whew!). Hopefully they’ll have to make room in the van for a few Jessie statuettes!

Back to School (Secondary Article)
As reward for a year’s work well done, many actors would consider taking time off for the traditional summer hiatus, but not actor Stefano Giulianetti. While many rush to put aside their craft, the modest and exceptionally talented Stefano Giulianetti is gearing up to further his seemingly endless skills at Antonio Fava’s International School of Commedia Dell’ Arte in Reggio Emilia, Italy. This on the heels of his recently completed tour with Kaleidoscope Theatre for The Boy Who Learned To Fly, where he was flying in the aerial silks, juggling, balancing and entertaining kids across the west coast with cast mates Trevor Hinton and Ming Hudson. Aware that his fans will miss him giulianetti assured us at muchado that he’ll be back in action this fall with Axis Theatre (see above).

Speaking of schools, look for Giulianetti in Douglas College’s latest theatre campaign! (www.douglas.bc.ca)

A Grand Adventure
J.J.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit takes the stage as Carousel Theatre brings the classic novel to Granville Island this April.

On the way they face many obstacles and challenges as they meet Gollum and goblins and trolls (Oh my!).
The impressive cast includes Kristian Ayre (as the Hobbit), Craig Erickson, Stefano Giulianetti, Josue Laboucane, Ashley Liu, Tamara McCarthy, Parnelli Parnes and Luc Roderique and is directed by Jack Paterson. An epic staging not to be missed!
The Hobbit plays at the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island April 11th to May 3rd, 2008. To order tickets for a public performance, call the Carousel Theatre box office at 604.685.6217.

Park The Van(Secondary Article)
Stefano Giulianetti and the cast of Axis Theatre’s The Emperor’s New Threads are putting the touring van in park for a while after logging many kilometers and an impressive list of accomplishments. The exceptional team (performers Stefano Giulianetti, Josue Laboucane, Tanya Podlozniuk and Stage Manager Dorothy Jenkins) boasts four Jessie Award nominations with two wins for Outstanding Design and Ensemble Performance and 210 performances to over 50,000 children and adults across BC in just over a year. Locally the show played the Vancouver East Cultural Centre (twice!) earning Giulianetti glowing reviews:

“A winning combination of hyperkinetic and clumsy” - Kathleen Oliver, Georgia Straight.

Their hard work and spirited energy has also earned the production nationwide notoriety that has translated into a seven-month tour across Canada in the fall. News about whether or not the coveted cast will be returning to the show has not yet been released.
